Meet The Rabbi
About Our Interim Rabbi
Jacob (also known as Jake) grew up in Highland Park, New Jersey. After graduating high school, he studied at Yeshivat Kerem B'yavneh in Israel. His academic journey led him to Yeshiva University, where he had the privilege of studying under the esteemed Rabbi Shalom Carmy. Currently, Jacob is completing his ordination at YU under the expert guidance of Rabbi Ezra Schwartz.

Jake’s year thus far has been busy; in addition to starting as a Rabbinic Intern at Congregation Adereth El in Manhattan, Jake married Jessica Weiselberg, a proud native of Brooklyn, in June, and the happy couple are now living in Washington Heights. Both Jake and Jessica have strong academic inclinations in addition to their spiritual commitments. Jacob is pursuing a PhD in Mathematics at the CUNY Graduate Center. He studies mathematical logic. Jessica is working toward a PhD in Biology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She works in a lab that studies HIV. Rabbi Stern first joined us as a visiting Rabbi for our 2023 High Holiday Services, and will now be continuing as our Interim Rabbi.
